how_to_get_here1Year-round vehicle and passenger ferry service to the island is provided by Marine Atlantic between North Sydney, Nova Scotia, and Port aux Basques (PAB), Newfoundland. Crossing time is 6 hours. To access Norris Point from PAB drive 345 kms (approx. 3.5 hours) drive north east on the Trans-Canada Highway (Route #1) to Deer Lake. In Deer Lake take the Viking Trail (Route #430) north for 81 kms (approx. 50 minutes) to Norris Point. Call 1-800-341-7981 for ferry reservations and details or visit their web site at: www.marine-atlantic.ca.

There is daily ferry service in the summer between St. Barbe on Newfoundland’s Viking Trail and Blanc Sablon on the Quebec-Labrador border. Take this ferry to reach Route 510. Crossing time is 80 minutes.

Getting to Norris Point from St. John’s head west on the TCH (Route #1), take the Viking Trail in Deer Lake and drive north 81 kms on Route 430.
