The “COME HOME YEAR” committee is busy planning the events for the 2010 celebration.

7:00-9:00 pm - Meet and Greet for Commemoration of the Town.

9:00-12:00pm - Local entertainment
Saturday July 17
1:00am - meet at Bonne Bay Health Centre
Parade to Town Hall carrying family banners
(bus available for seniors or anyone needing assistance)
2:00pm - Presentation of Come Home Year flag to mayor Howard Neil
- Reception - (Flag raising; cake cutting; singing of theme song; Welcomes; ribbon cutting; signing of guestbook & refreshments)
5:00pm - Community Pot Luck Supper
10:00 pm - Adult dance & Screech In - (music by Route 440)
Sunday July 18
8:30 - 10:30 am- Breakfast served by the volunteer Fire Brigade (Community Hall)
11:00 - 12:00am - Free Family Swim at Gros Morne Recreation Complex.
Hot Dogs & Kool-Aid
2:00pm- Ecumenical Service at Church of the Good Shepherd
5:00pm - Cold Cuts supper (Community Hall)
8:00-10:00pm - Kiddies dance
8:00 -10:00pm - tour of Bonne Bay on “Emm-Cat” ($15:00 per person, limited tickets)
10:00pm- Adult dance (music by Fred’s disco)
Monday, July 19
10:00am - Children’s hour at Julia Walsh Centre. (old hospital)
10:00am - Exercise with Joannie Cranston at Julia Walsh Centre (old hospital)
12:00- soup luncheon sponsored by Come Home Year Committee (Community Hall)
PM - Get reacquainted with friends and family on your own time.
5:30pm - Fish dinner sponsored by the seniors club.(Community Hall)
8:00pm - Family Beach fire and Sing Song at Wild Cove .
8:00pm - 120’s Game at Lions Den followed by a game of Scat.
Tuesday July 20
10:00am - Children’s hour at Julia Walsh Centre
10:00am - Rediscover Norris Point (meet at Walsh’s Service Station & hike to Neddie’s Harbour Pond)
12:00 - 1:00 pm - Lunch of Bologna/Hash or Moose Stew/Dinner Roll, tea & coffee. Sponsored by Anglican Church.
2:00-5:00pm - Open House at Church of the Good Shepherd Anglican Church. Displays,Souvenirs, Homemade goodies with tea & coffee.
5:00 pm - Jiggs Dinner with all the trimmings; Pittmans restaurant
8:00pm - Variety show - (Community Hall)
Wednesday July 21
10:00am - Children’s hour
10:00am Rediscover Norris Point (meet at Town Hall and walk the trail to Decker’s Cove, Shoal Point, to Clarks Lane
12:00 - 1:00pm - Moose Pie lunch sponsored by Come home Year Committee
2:00pm - Beachcombing at Wild cove & Picnic at Majors Park (meet at Town Hall; Rock Painting)
2:00-4:00pm - Homemade Quilt display at the Julia Ann Walsh Centre
5:00pm - Fish&Brewis - Pittmans restaurant
8:00pm- Gospel night -(variety of performers and sing along)
8:00pm - 120’s at Lions Den followed by a game of Scat
8:00 - Teenage swim at the Gros Morne Recreation Centre
Thursday, July 22
7:30am - Come Home Year Breakfast
10:00am - Rediscover Norris Point - (meet at the Jenniex Heritage House and hike the James Humber Trail)
1:00 pm - Christmas in July (several Christmas activities for the young people)
12:00 -soup & sandwiches sponsored by the seniors
1:30 - 120’s, Craft & Bake Sale in the Lions Den-sponsored by the seniors
5:30 pm - Christmas dinner with all the trimmings
10:00 pm - Christmas Dance (music by Fred’s Disco). Sponsored by Come Home Year Committee
Friday, July 23
10:00 - Children’s Hour
1:00pm - Family Picnic on Burnt Hill (bring a bag lunch & your camera)
5:00pm - Lobster Dinner served with salads, rolls, homemade pie, Tea & coffee. $20:00 per person. Sponsored by Anglican Church. (Community Hall)
7:00 - 9:00pm - Tour Bonne Bay on the Emm-Cat ($15:00 per person, limited tickets).
10:00pm - Kitchen Party/Screech In at the Town Hall (sponsored by the Lions Club)
Saturday, July 24
10:00am - Children’s Hour
10:00 am- Rediscover Norris Point -(meet at the Boat Launch, Neddies Harbour. Hike across the fields to the pond)
12:00-1:00pm -Beans & Toutons lunch - (Community Hall - sponsored by United Church women)
2:00-4:00pm - Poker Derby Walk - Walk ,run or jog around town to collect your winning hand. All cards must be turned in to the Lions Club by 5:00. 50% of the proceeds will be given away.
5:00pm - Barbecue at the Community Playground. Mooseburgers, HotDogs, Fish Cakes , Bologna
10:00pm - Volunteer Fire Brigade Annual Garden Party - (Community Playground- music by A Frank Willis)
Sunday, July 25
11:00am - church services
11:30am-1:30pm - Brunch at the Community Hall - sponsored by the Anglican Church Men
2:00 - family swim at the Recreation complex
2:00pm - Anglican Church Cemetary/Flower Service 9service begins in old cemetary and proceeds to new cemetary)
5:00pm - Our closing scoff - bring your favourite dish and meet us at the Community Hall
7:00pm - Gather your flags and join in a parade around Bugdens’s Cove and back to the Town Hall
- Closing ceremonies
10:00pm - Fireworks & Street Dance - (music by Da Boys)
