The “COME HOME YEAR” committee is busy planning the events for the 2010 celebration.

Roast Beef /Turkey supper on Feb 24th @ 5:30 to be held at the Community Hall-by donation

*Tentatively we are also hoping to have a boat parade (with all boats lit) and will be having a "Time capsule" developed (check back for details).

Friday, July 16

7:00 – 9:00 -  Meet & Greet at the Community Hall
(commemoration of the Towns incorporation-50yrs)

9:00 – live entertainment

Saturday, July 17

1:00- Parade from the Old Hospital to the Community Hall
         (everyone carries their family banner)

2:00- Presentation of the Come Home Year Flag to the Mayor
          Raising of the Flag

3:00-5:00- Reception; speeches; singing of theme song ;signing of the guestbook; cake
                  cutting etc.

5:00 – Supper (to be announced)

7:00 – entertainment (to be announced

Sunday, July 18

10:30-12:00 – Ecumenical service

1:00 – Dinner (to be announced)

3:30-5:00- Family Swim at the pool

5:00-7:00 – Picnic at the pool (hot dogs & hamburgers etc.)

8:00-10:00 – live entertainment (to be announced)

Monday, July 19

10:00 – Exercise –with Joannie Cranston –at the Julia Ann Welsh Center(old hospital)

10:00-11:00 – Children’s hour

12:00- dinner (to be announced)

1:00-4:00 Family Garden Party at the Playground

5:00- Supper (to be announced)

7:30 – Beachfire and Sing along at Wild Cove

8:00 – Bingo

Tuesday, July 20

10:00 – Walk on  Burnt Hill Trail

10:00 – 11:00- Children’s hour .

12:00 – Lunch (to be announced)

2:00 – Card Game
2:00 – Movie for the children (popcorn supplied)

5:00 – supper (to be announced)

8:00 – Variety Show (skits; stories & local talent)

Wednesday, July 21

10:00- Community walk (Jenniex House to Community Hall)
10:00- Children’s hr

12:00- lunch (to be announced)

3:00-5:00- Walk from Community Hall to Major’s Park (wildcove). Family picnic at the park.( Bring your own lunch)

8:00-10:00 – Gospel night

Thursday, July 22

10:00 – Walk to Neddies Harbour Pond
10:00 – Children’s hr.

12:00 – lunch (to be announced)

2:00 (onward) – Christmas in July: craft making; Tree trimming; Supper ; mummers & carols  followed by a dance.

Friday, July 23

10:00 – Walk
10:00 – children’s hr

12:00 – lunch to be announced

2:00 – Tea party
2:00 – playground day for kids

5:00 – supper to be announced

8:00 – Fun Darts

10:30 – Kitchen Party

Saturday, July 24

Fire Brigade  (events to be announced ); possibly tours of the fire trucks for children

Supper (to be announced

 Dance & Garden Party-hosted by the fire Brigade

Movie night for kids (with popcorn)

Sunday, July 25

11:00 church services (at the local churches)

1:00 – Dinner (to be announced)

2:00 – closing ceremonies ( time capsule etc.)

Dark – fireworks

We are asking everyone to make a family banner out of cloth, to carry in the parade. It will be your own special design. (but don’t worry about detail---if you can’t do cloth—bring a  piece of Bristol Board) . Spread the word—let’s make this the best Come Home Year ever.

There will be various items for sale at the "Come Home year Shop" We are in the process of buying Sweatshits & TShirts with the Come Home year Logo to purchase. More info will be available soon as well as other items to purchase.
